August 2020
CHARGE: UNDERAGE POSSESSION OF ALCOHOL BY A MINOR
CASE OVERVIEW: Attorney Kensley Barrett and Marin & Barrett, Inc. are extremely pleased to report that a minor in possession of alcohol charge against a Client in Washington District Court has been dismissed. Our Client had been charged with allegedly possessing alcohol while on Misquamicut Beach in Westerly, Rhode Island. Based on the nature of the charge, if convicted he faced a maximum sentence of a fine, 60 day suspension of his driver's license, and community service.
Attorney Barrett was able to secure a resolution of the client's case before his first court date (arraignment) through an agreement with the Prosecution for the Client to complete community service and a nominal donation to a charity. Based on our efforts and our client's completion of the negotiated conditions, we were able to successfully obtain a dismissal for our client. Following the case dismissal, the charge was subsequently expunged from our Client's record.
CASE RESULT: ALL CHARGES DISMISSED on August 25th, 2020
