CHARGE: FELONY POSSESSION OF A STOLEN MOTOR VEHICLE
CASE OVERVIEW: Attorney Kensley Barrett with Marin & Barrett, Inc. is extremely pleased to report that a possession of a stolen motor vehicle charge against a Client in Providence Superior Court has been dismissed. Our Client had been charged with possessing a stolen motor vehicle after allegedly driving a motorcycle that was previously reported as stolen. Based on the nature of the charge, if convicted he faced a maximum sentence of 5 years in jail (ACI).
Attorney Barrett was able to get our client into a diversionary program with a condition that our client make restitution for damage to the motorcycle. Based on our efforts and our client's completion of the negotiated conditions, we were able to successfully obtain a dismissal for our client. Following the case dismissal, the charge was subsequently expunged from our Client's record.
CASE RESULT: ALL CHARGES DISMISSED on August 7th, 2020
