Domestic Disorderly Conduct Charges Dismissed in the Providence County District Court on April 2nd, 2024
April 2024
CHARGE: DOMESTIC DISORDERLY CONDUCT
CASE OVERVIEW: In a recent legal victory, the Marin, Barrett, and Murphy Law Firm achieved a successful outcome for our Client who was charged with Domestic Disorderly Conduct by the Central Falls Police Department in March 2024.
Our client became involved in a verbal dispute with his wife, prompting his sister-in-law to contact emergency services out of concern for her sister's welfare. Upon arrival, law enforcement officers engaged with all parties involved and subsequently arrested our client for alleged Domestic Disorderly Conduct.
Upon retention, our legal team swiftly obtained a copy of the police report and thoroughly reviewed it with our client. Additionally, we reached out to our client's wife, the named victim, to gain a comprehensive understanding of the circumstances surrounding the incident. Through these conversations, it became evident that the altercation was purely verbal, devoid of any threatening behavior or disorderly conduct.
At the initial court appearance, Attorney Kensley Barrett of Marin Barrett & Murphy attorneys met with the Central Falls solicitor to present our client's case and elucidate the factual context of the incident. Following extensive discussion, the Prosecutor concurred with our assessment and agreed to dismiss the charges upon our client's completion of anger management counseling.
Thanks to our diligent efforts, our client successfully completed the anger management counseling on the same day, resulting in the dismissal of all charges. Consequently, our client avoids a misdemeanor conviction, sidesteps the requirement for domestic violence classes, and is eligible for immediate expungement of the case from his record.
This favorable resolution underscores Attorney Kensley Barrett and the entire Marin, Barrett, and Murphy Law Firm's unwavering commitment to delivering effective legal representation, safeguarding our clients' rights, and securing optimal outcomes in challenging legal situations.
