November 2022
CHARGE: DOMESTIC VANDALISM
CASE OVERVIEW: Attorney Kensley Barrett with the Marin and Barrett law firm is pleased to announce a successfully defended case of domestic vandalism. Our client, was charged with domestic vandalism by the Hopkinton Police Department following an altercation with her boyfriend that resulted in a broken car window.
After being retained we contacted our client's boyfriend to gather information about the alleged incident. We further found out the cost to have the broken window repaired and instructed our client to purchase a money order for restitution for the broken window. At the first court date, we reviewed the allegations with the prosecutor and provided the estimate to repair the window and money order for the repair. Following proof of the corrective action taken by our client, the prosecutor agreed to dismiss the case with no conditions.
As a result of the dismissal, our client avoided a domestic conviction and avoided fines by the court. Additionally, a motion to seal and expunge was immediately filed with the court to remove all documentation of the client's arrest and court proceedings from her record.
