Domestic Violence Charges Dismissed in the Washington County District Court on September 1st, 2022
September 2022
CHARGES:
(1) SIMPLE DOMESTIC ASSAULT AND BATTERY
(2) DOMESTIC DISORDERLY CONDUCT
CASE OVERVIEW: Attorney Kensley Barrett with the Marin and Barrett law firm is pleased to announce another successfully defended Domestic Violence Case out of Washington County. Our client was charged with domestic assault and domestic disorderly conduct that stemmed from an altercation with her boyfriend, who was similarly charged as a result of the altercation.
After being retained we met with our client and discussed the circumstances of the case and, in our estimation, determined that both our client and her boyfriend had a 5th amendment privilege against self-incrimination. We contacted opposing counsel and agreed to have our client (and her boyfriend) sign affidavits of non-prosecution. The affidavits and advocacy were persuasive to have the prosecutor dismiss the charges against her client (and her boyfriend).
CASE RESULT: DOMESTIC VIOLENCE CHARGES DISMISSED on September 1st, 2022
Practice area(s): Criminal Defense, Domestic Violence
Court: Washington County District Court
