Child Pornography Charges Reduced to Accessing a Computer For Fraudulent Purposes in November 2021

CHARGE: POSSESSION OF CHILD PORNOGRAPHY
CASE OVERVIEW: Marin & Barrett, Inc. is extremely pleased to report that a juvenile Client charged with possession of child pornography in Rhode Island Juvenile/Family Court, which is punishable by remand to the Rhode Island Training School and mandatory registration as a sex offender, had the charges amended to using a computer for fraudulent purposes and received juvenile probation until the Client turns 19 years of age, that is monitored through Family Court. The Client admitted sufficient facts to the amended charge and was placed on essentially one year probation with counseling and no sex offender registration.
CASE RESULT: FELONY POSSESSION OF CHILD PORNOGRAPHY CHARGES REDUCED TO ACCESSING A COMPUTER FOR FRAUDULENT PURPOSES and the Client was placed on one year of juvenile probation with no sex offender registration obligation in November 2021.
